To be compatible with the 2024 edition, we need to wrap the
`no_mangle` attribute in `unsafe()`.
The parsing for that in cbindgen was only added in the version 0.28,
but we couldn't upgrade cbindgen before because of a regression in
cbindgen 0.27 that prevented us from upgrading.
Now that cbindgen 0.29 is released with a fix, we can prepare for the
2024 edition
`__1` is a valid identifier, which we normalized to
`--1`, which is invalid.
This changes the nromalization function to leave a `_` in the first position.
SmolStr has an Arc internally for large strings. This allows
cheap copies of large strings, but we lose that ability
when we convert the SmolStr to a &str and then reconstruct a
SmolStr from that slice.
I was hoping for some larger gains here, considering the impact
of this code change, but it only removes ~50k allocations,
while the impact on the runtime is not noticeable at all.
Still, I believe this is the right thing to do.
Before:
```
allocations: 2338981
Time (mean ± σ): 988.3 ms ± 17.9 ms [User: 690.2 ms, System: 206.4 ms]
Range (min … max): 956.4 ms … 1016.3 ms 10 runs
```
After:
```
allocations: 2287723
Time (mean ± σ): 989.8 ms ± 23.2 ms [User: 699.2 ms, System: 197.6 ms]
Range (min … max): 945.3 ms … 1021.4 ms 10 runs
```
Updated the version from 1.1 to 1.2
Renamed the header to "Slint Royalty-free Desktop, Mobile, and Web Applications License"
Added definition of "Mobile Application" and grant of right
Moved "Limitations" to 3rd section and "License Conditions - Attributions" to 2nd section
Added flexibility to choose between showing "MadeWithSlint" as a dialog/splash screen or on a public webpage
Moved the para on copyright notices to section under "Limitations"
- From C++, always call the Window::show() and hide() function instead
of going through set_visible directly as it doesn't set the size of
the WindowItem
- show() should also call resize on the renderer
- remove the is_visible in the WindowAdapterInternal as it is no longer
needed
The alignment of a HashMap within a Struct is 8 bytes because of the
RandomState.
This is important because the C++ allocated `interpreter::Struct` could
be mis-aligned
The main change is that the window adapter is not copied into
sub-components anymore - instead it is accessed through the root. This
is especially important for globals.
In order to add the root, a little extra dance had to be performance on
instantiation: The self_rc/self_weak is created first and the
ComponentExtraData's fields are populated via once_cells.
Adjust sizes of opaque value and component compiler wrapper structs.
These have been out of sync for many releases (I stopped at v0.2.0, but it goes further AFAICS).
and use Rc<dyn PlatformWindow> instead. The alias has to stay with the ffi
functions though and the item vtable definitions,
because we don't have an Rc<> template in C++.
Previously: Window is an Rc<WindowInner>, which has an Rc<dyn
PLatformWindow> - and weak references the other way around.
Now: Rc<dyn PlatformWindow> is the root of window ownership. The impl
PlatformWindow has a slint::api::Window, which just holds a WindowInner.
This change is incomplete on a few levels, mainly that neither of the
code generators nor the interpreter is ported.
For embedded images the path is empty but we unconditionally used it to create a TextureCacheKey,
which clashes.
Instead, preserve and store the ImageCacheKey in the ImageInner variants.
The README.md contains the warning that used to be in lib.rs.

This was a regression following the move to the edition 2021.
The CallbackUserData was not capture in the lamda, its member were moved.
So the destructor was called right after it was set.
We must make sure we capture the whole CallbackUserData, so put the callback
inside of it. This also reduce a bit of code duplication at the same time.
Test the callback invokation with statefull lambda
