33ad38bfed templates: add "divergent" label to log for divergent changes
It would be good to include the word "divergent" in the log when a
change is divergent, since users are often unsure what's happening when
they see a divergent change, and giving them a term to search for would
be helpful. However, I don't think it looks good to put this label next
to the change ID itself if both are the same color, since it ends up
being hard to distinguish from the change offset at a glance. Also,
putting the label next to the change ID also messes up the alignment of
fields in the log. Therefore, I think it looks better to put the
"divergent" label at the end of the line.

Since divergence and hidden commits are similar, it makes sense for both
labels to be in the same place, so I also moved the hidden label to the
end for consistency.

One downside is that the labels are less obviously connected with the
change ID itself due to them being farther apart. I think this could be
fine, since they are still visually connected by being the same color.

ba73442b2a conflicts: update conflict marker format
Conflict labels will generally start with lowercase change IDs, so
making all of the text lowercase makes it more consistent. I also
removed the "contents of" text, since conflict labels will already be
long enough, and this text doesn't add anything. Similarly, I removed
the "(conflict 1 of 1)" note from the Git conflict markers since Git
doesn't include this information, and including it would result in extra
long lines once we add conflict labels.

32aee9dbdf cli: deprecate --destination/-d in favor of --onto/-o
Some checks are pending
binaries / Build binary artifacts (push) Waiting to run
website / prerelease-docs-build-deploy (ubuntu-24.04) (push) Waiting to run
Scorecards supply-chain security / Scorecards analysis (push) Waiting to run
As we have discussed many times on Discord and GitHub, `--destination`
is not a great name because `--insert-before` and `--insert-after` are
also destinations. The most popular alternative seems to be
`--onto`. We already use that term in descriptions in several places,
such as in the help text for `rebase -d` where we say "The revision(s)
to rebase onto". This patch therefore renames the `--destination` flag
to `--onto`.

The short name naturally becomes `-o`. That is perhaps a little
unfortunate because it's a common short name for `--output <file>`
arguments, but we don't use that anywhere so it seems fine.

Perhaps we should also rename `--source` (used by `rebase` and `fix`)
to something else. Perhaps the most obvious name is `--descendants`,
but the short form would be `-d`, which is of course already taken by
`--destination` in the case of `rebase`. Either way, I'm leaving that
rename for later. It would be good to do it before next release if we
are going to do it, though.

1080396831 cli: Default to nano editor on Linux
Some checks are pending

The pico text editor is effectively absent from the majority of Linux
distributions, having been replaced with nano by virtually all of them.
Some distros have symlinks for `pico` that point to `nano`, but not all
of them. Using nano as the fallback option has a much lower chance of
failure than pico.

12b3a26f3d undo: revert progressively older operations with repeated calls
New users (especially ones unfamiliar with CLI programs) intuitively
expect `jj undo` to work the same way the "undo" functionality of
typical GUI applications do. That means, running `jj undo` multiple
times should restore progressively older states of the repository
one-by-one.

36ee36ce78 op: undo: rename to revert
This paves the way for the semantics of `jj undo` and `jj op revert` to
evolve independently. `jj op revert` is going to stay the low-level
command to apply the inverse of any operation. The new name is
consistent with `jj revert`, which applies the inverse of a commit.

`jj undo` on the other hand is planned to become a higher-level command,
which is more similar to, say, Ctrl+Z in typical GUI applications.
Running `jj undo` repeatedly will revert progressively older operations,
allowing the user to walk backwards in time. At the same time, `jj undo`
will lose the abilitly to revert arbitrary operations, to keep its
semantics simple and intuitive.

3f13ea39e2 cli: deprecate jj checkout
Summary: As discussed in Discord, on GitHub, and elsewhere, this change
deprecates the use of `jj checkout` and suggests users use `jj new` exclusively
instead. The verb `checkout` is a relic of a bygone era the — days of RCS
file locking, before 3-way merge — and is not a good, fitting name for the
functionality it provides.

To further drive the bit home, by default, `jj checkout` (and `jj co`) is now
hidden. This will hopefully stop new users from running into it.

48580ed8b1 revsets: allow :: as synonym for :
The `--allow-large-revsets` flag we have on `jj rebase` and `jj new`
allows the user to do e.g. `jj rebase --allow-large-revsets -b
main.. -d main` to rebase all commits that are not in main onto
main. The reason we don't allow these revsets to resolve to multiple
commits by default is that we think users might specify multiple
commits by mistake. That's probably not much of a problem with `jj
rebase -b` (maybe we should always allow that to resolve to multiple
commits), but the user might want to know if `jj rebase -d @-`
resolves to multiple commits.

One problem with having a flag to allow multiple commits is that it
needs to be added to every command where we want to allow multiple
commits but default to one. Also, it should probably apply to each
revset argument those commands take. For example, even if the user
meant `-b main..` to resolve to multiple commits, they might not have
meant `-d main` to resolve to multiple commits (which it will in case
of a conflicted branch), so we might want separate
`--allow-large-revsets-in-destination` and
`--allow-large-revsets-in-source`, which gets quite cumbersome. It
seems better to have some syntax in the individual revsets for saying
that multiple commits are allowed.

One proposal I had was to use a `multiple()` revset function which
would have no effect in general but would be used as a marker if used
at the top level (e.g. `jj rebase -d 'multiple(@-)'`). After some
discussion on the PR adding that function (#1911), it seems that the
consensus is to instead use a prefix like `many:` or `all:`. That
avoids the problem with having a function that has no effect unless
it's used at the top level (`jj rebase -d 'multiple(x)|y'` would have
no effect).

Since we already have the `:` operator for DAG ranges, we need to
change it to make room for `many:`/`all:` syntax. This commit starts
that by allowing both `:` and `::`.

I have tried to update the documentation in this commit to either
mention both forms, or just the new and preferred `::` form. However,
it's useless to search for `:` in Rust code, so I'm sure I've missed
many instances. We'll have to address those as we notice them. I'll
let most tests use `:` until we deprecate it or delete it.

The only reason for this change is that, subjectively, the result looks better to me. I'm not sure why, but I couldn't get used to the old symbol in spite of its seeming reasonableness. It felt really bold and heavy.

If people agree, we can wait until we need to update the screenshots for some other reason before merging this. Sorry I didn't figure this out while the discussion about the referenced commit was going on.
